🪰 Situation with Blowflies on the Finca
đź“Ś Current Situation (as of August 19, 2025)
Today is the worst day so far.
For the past three days the situation has been very severe, with hundreds of flies present (approx. 200 killed today).
The plague begins with the first sunlight (~05:30) and ends with sunset. During rain showers, the flies disappear temporarily.
Most affected areas: main kitchen, hallway, and parts of the guesthouse. Other areas are still largely unaffected.
We are trying to address the most plausible possible causes, but at this point we do not know the exact reason for this unusual outbreak or how the situation will develop.

- August 19, 2025 – worst day so far (approx. 200 flies killed).
- August 18, 2025 – very severe, similar to the day before.
- August 17, 2025 – very severe, beginning of the current peak.
- August 7–16, 2025 – moderate.
- August 5–6, 2025 – severe, comparable to Aug 17–18.
- July 22 – August 4, 2025 – moderate, beginning phase.
