Explore Cahuita National Park in Limón, home to the best-preserved coral reef on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast 🙂
The park is co-managed by the community and government, focusing on sustainability.
Activities
- White-sand beaches with safe swimming areas and beach activities.
- Coral reef snorkeling zones to see colorful fish like French angelfish, queen angelfish, and marine life including lobsters and turtles.
- Coastal trails for spotting wildlife such as howler monkeys, sloths, toucans, eyelash vipers, crab hawks, and basilisks.
Practical information
- Opens everyday from 8:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m
- There are two entry points: Playa Blanca and Puerto Vargas.
*Playa Blanca: Entry is free, but donations are appreciated.
*Puerto Vargas:
– Non-residents: $5.65
– Residents: ¢1,130 - Guided tours available
