🏗️ How to Create a New Zone or Subzone (Finca Yuyo)

Adding a new Zone (e.g. Studio, Volunteer Kitchen) or Subzone (e.g. Fridge, Fruit Bowl) is the first step before inventory items can be entered for that location.

Step-by-Step

1. Log in to WordPress as an Administrator.
2. In the left menu, go to
   Tools → Create Location.
3. The Project is fixed to Finca Yuyo (cannot be changed).
4. Select the Quarter from the dropdown.
5. Select the Sixteenth that belongs to this Quarter.
6. In the Zone field:
   • Choose an existing zone if it already exists, or
   • Select ➕ Create new zone…, then enter:
     • Zone name (required)
     • Slug (optional, auto-generated if left empty)
     • Active checkbox (should stay checked).
7. In the Subzone field:
   • Choose an existing subzone, or
   • Select ➕ Create new subzone…, then enter the details as above.
8. Click Create.
9. A green message “✅ Created: …” confirms success.
10. The new Zone/Subzone will now appear automatically in all dropdowns across inventory and individual entry forms.

Notes

• Quarters and Sixteenths are fixed and can only be changed directly in the database.
• Always keep Active = yes so the location shows up in forms.
• Slugs should be lowercase and simple (e.g. studio-fridge). The system will make them unique if needed.
