Instructions for Using the Electric Brushcutter

Introduction

The electric brushcutter is intended for regular chopping work. Due to the size of the area to be maintained, the machine is necessary to reduce the time required for this task.

Location and Accessories

The electric brushcutter is stored in the bodega and should be easy to find due to its size. A protective helmet with visor and work gloves are stored there as well.
The brushcutter requires two charged Makita batteries. Only these batteries can be used with the device. They have the same design as the brushcutter (light blue and black). They can be attached or removed from the charger or the tool by pressing the white release button.
The charging station, as well as the four batteries, are located in the workshop. The workshop also stores the trimmer line and a cutting blade for the brushcutter.

Operation

Battery: With two fully charged batteries, the brushcutter can run for about one hour. When the batteries are empty, place them in the charging station and continue working with the spare batteries. At the end of your working time, please ensure that the batteries are charged for the next day, so that ideally four charged batteries are available at the beginning of the next work session.

Trimmer line / cutting blade: The trimmer line or blade is located at the front of the brushcutter. The line must be rewound when it is used up. Sometimes it may slip and need to be re-fixed. The cutting blade must be sharpened regularly. For these tasks, please ask us for assistance.

The actual handling and operation of the brushcutter will be explained to you before your first use.

Safety Instructions

Working with the brushcutter involves certain risks, and improper use can cause injuries. Please observe the following precautions for safe operation.

Clothing

During work, small stones, pieces of wood, or thorns may be thrown in all directions at high speed, which poses a risk of injury.
Therefore, the body must be protected with long, sturdy trousers, rubber boots, a long-sleeved shirt, gloves, and a helmet with visor. Ear protection is optional due to the relatively low noise level of the electric brushcutter.
Only start working when you are fully equipped, and ask us if you need help locating the protective gear. If necessary, trousers, boots, jackets, etc. can be borrowed. Please note that clothing will get dirty!

When fully equipped, working quickly becomes very warm. Take regular breaks and drink enough water. People with circulation problems should possibly refrain from this type of work.

Self-Protection and Protection of Others

Flying debris can not only injure you but also people nearby. Always keep enough distance from the person using the brushcutter, and when you are operating it, make sure nobody is standing close to you. The operator, due to equipment and machine noise, may not notice you immediately. Please do not approach directly but wait at a safe distance until the operator notices you.

When strapping on the brushcutter, make sure the harness is adjusted to your body size. During operation, always keep the brushcutter away from your body and feet.
