How our volunteers experienced their stay on our farm
Hello all, My name is August Spurling! My friend and I were fortunate enough to volunteer at the Yuyo project from June-July 2024. All around, the experience was amazing! The project is located on a beautiful hill just 20 minutes south of Puerto Viejo and is filled with animals. The property instantly felt at home. At project Yuyo we developed experience in farming, Spanish, ecology, and much more. Although some of the work was difficult and conditions weren’t always easy, we left gaining so much experience not only with the environment, but with ourselves. As for the hosts, they were incredibly caring, wise, and humorous. Their passion for the environment and the well-being of others certainly did not go unnoticed and I am excited to see what they achieve. If you love animals, the beach, self-improvement, and good vibes this is the place for you. The only thing I would recommend is renting/purchasing a bike because of hills extremity, but don’t miss out on this opportunity.
